Stephany M. Taylor was born and raised in Mississippi. Science was her favorite subject in school as a kid and it carried over into adulthood. Her B.S. degree is in Meteorology with a minor in Mathematics, MS in Physics with a concentration in Atmospheric Science, and Ph.D. is in Energy and Environmental Systems with a concentration in Atmospheric Science. She remembers the exact moment when she wanted to become a weather nerd. It was during the 1998 Hurricane Georges landfall in Mississippi, where her eyes remained glued to The Weather Channel to stay updated on the track and intensity of the storm. Her interest in science phenomena remains constant even in adulthood. She learned a lot about the challenges that students are facing during her time in academia/educational system. Her series of educational science books are “Taylor Made Unique” to help spark interest and/or critical thinking skills in the youth.
